Davidson grew up around Davidson College, founded in 1837. The town's western edge follows the Lake Norman shoreline, and I-77 Exit 30 at Griffith Street brings you in. Part of the town reaches north into Iredell County.
The historic core, downtown included, became a National Register historic district in 2009. Main Street, which is NC 115, runs right across from the college.
Since its 1993 plan, Davidson has built for walking and mixed uses, and it even banned drive-thrus. About 15,100 people lived here in the 2020 census, up from 10,944 in 2010.
Davidson has more townhomes than its neighbors. About one home in six is a single-family attached house, a higher share than in Mooresville, Cornelius, Huntersville or the Denver area. More than a third of all homes went up in 2010 or later. Homes from that stretch were built when granite led new construction: in 2016 it was in 64% of new homes nationally.

Your install date goes in the contract before you sign, and the 7 business days start when you sign and pay the deposit.
- Step 4
Install day.
We fabricate your countertops and install them ourselves.
Old top out, new top in, and a plumber hooks everything back up in the afternoon.
