Made in Charlotte

Cut in our shop. Planned with you.

A quartzite slab has movement. Where the cut falls decides whether the veins run across your island or break at a seam. So we plan it with you.

We place your pieces on the slab, and before we cut, we show you the vein layout. Then we fabricate it in our own shop in Charlotte and install it in your kitchen.

A slab layout: each outline is a piece of the countertop, placed on the slab so the veins line up
A real slab layout. Each outline is one piece of the countertop.

Designer stones

What we mean by designer stones

The slabs you choose for how they look as much as for how they work.

On one side, natural quartzites with strong veining, like Taj Mahal. On the other, the new large-format surfaces, Dekton, Neolith and porcelain, made in big, thin slabs that cover an island or a wall with very few seams.

They ask for care in the shop: the right blade, the right layout, clean edges. That part is our job.

Quartzite or quartz

Two names, two different stones

They sound alike and get mixed up all the time. One comes from a quarry. The other comes from a factory.

The slabs we work

Taj Mahal, Dekton, Neolith and porcelain

Tell us the look you are after and we look for the slab with you. Every image below is an idea of how each stone can look, not a job of ours.

  • Corner of an island in warm white quartzite, the veins wrapping around a mitered waterfall edge

    Taj Mahal quartzite

A natural quartzite, warm white with soft gold and taupe veins. People pick it for the look of marble on a quartzite. No two slabs are the same, so you choose yours.

  • Kitchen island in matte charcoal sintered stone with waterfall sides and light wood cabinets

    Dekton

A sintered surface made by Cosentino: minerals pressed and fired at very high heat. It comes in large, thin slabs, in matte, concrete and stone looks.

  • White island with bold gray veins on waterfall sides, with walnut cabinets and brass pendants

    Neolith

Also a sintered surface, in large, thin slabs. Many Neolith designs carry marble-like veining in white, gray and black.

  • Bright kitchen with white veined porcelain counters and a matching backsplash behind the cooktop

    Porcelain

Clay and minerals fired at high heat, close to waterproof. On many slabs the pattern sits on the surface, so the layout matters. We cut it with a dedicated blade.

Remnants

A remnant is a piece left over from a bigger slab. For a vanity, a bar top or a laundry room, one can be enough. Ask us and we help you look.

The trade

Learned at home

Sebastian Anda Sr. installed countertops for many years and taught the trade to his sons, José and Sebastian Jr. Stone Guys opened in 2018. A young company with an old trade behind it.

Sebastian answers your texts. If you don't have your measurements, he comes to your home to measure and brings stone samples. We walk you through each step, from your estimate to the day your countertops go in.

Do you install countertops in Charlotte?

Yes. Charlotte is part of our area, along with Mooresville, Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville and Denver. Not sure about your street? Send us your ZIP code.

Where is your shop?

In Charlotte. We fabricate your countertops there. To see a slab in person, you can go to one of our stone suppliers, and we design the layout and cut it.

What is Taj Mahal quartzite?

A natural quartzite with a warm white base and soft gold and taupe veining. Every slab is different, so it pays to see yours before we cut.

Dekton, Neolith or porcelain: what is the difference?

Dekton and Neolith are sintered surfaces, made from minerals pressed and fired at very high heat. Porcelain is fired clay and minerals. All three come in large, thin slabs. Tell us the look you want and we help you compare them.

What is a remnant?

A piece left over from a bigger slab. For a vanity, a bar top or a laundry room, a remnant can be enough. We help you look for one.

Will I see the veins before you cut?

Yes. Before we cut, we show you the vein layout of your slab.

I love a quartzite that is over my budget. Now what?

We show you a stone from the same family that costs less.

How long does it take?

A standard kitchen, up to about 70 sq ft, is in and out in 7 business days, counted from the day you sign and pay the deposit. A full-height backsplash in the same stone or more than 70 sq ft takes 10 to 12 business days.
